Unfortunately last week was pretty rough. Jolie's seizures got a lot worse and she became very sleepy and more irritable. Her Neuroligist said she probably has some type of infection so they did a blood test. Later that evening (Wed) they called and said the blood test showed signs of infection. With her immune system as week as it is right now it is very dangerous for her to get sick so they had us take her to the ER at Swedish hospital. There they tested her urine and blood and said she had a UTI. They perscribed antibiotics and sent us home. Her seizures did improve but the antibiotic gave her terrible diarreah. By Friday her diarreah was so bad that our doc sent us to the Children's Hospital ER and told us that the test done at Swedish was not conclusive to UTI because it was contaminated. Once we were at Children's they took a urine sample through catheter this time and another blood sample. Neither showed signs of a bacterial infection. They said she may have a viral infection which there is nothing you can do for so go ahead and stop giving her the antibiotic, that should stop the diarreh. We have been really frusterated with all the run around but we just can't be too careful with her right now. Jolie seems to be doing better the last two or three days. Her seizures are better than they were last week but worse than the first week home from the hospital. This could be the result of a virus of some sort so I have become insistant that anyone near her has to wear a mask and wash up. She is also very cranky, but who can blame her! We continue to be awed by all your love and support and we want you all to know the strength and peace that we are recieving through your prayers. Thank you all, we love you!
