Forgive me for taking so long to post an update. Despite that darling smile it has been a challenging few days. The picture above was taken on Friday. Jolie was in her first PT appt for that day when her therapist noticed her left arm tensing up. She shouldn't be able to move her left arm yet so this was definitely cause for alarm, they recognized this as a seizure right away. We were devastated, fearing that the surgery was a failure. Jolie continued to seize every two minutes for the next eight hours. This was a new type of seizure we had never seen before, very mild she was actually smiling and laughing in between (which may have been the result of the valium they gave her to try and stop the seizure but it made us feel better nonetheless). They did a CT scan to make sure there was nothing structurally wrong that may be causing the seizures. Everything looked like it should but she still had a lot of air and fluid that can irritate the brain. Dr. L came in around 5p and said he felt strongly that these new seizures were a result of the surgery and should not be a problem once she is healed. We felt MUCH better after hearing from him, we have so much confidence in his ability to care for Jolie.
The days since have been better, we haven't seen any more seizures and her therapy is going pretty well. The biggest improvement is that she is eating really well so they no longer make her have a feeding tube. That is a huge blessing, she hated that thing more than her IV.
Jolie is still pretty grouchy most of the time and we are praying that she will start feeling happier soon.

It always gives me strength to know when people are praying for me...for that reason, I just wanted you to know that I fasted for Jolie this week. We are so hopeful and prayerful that Jolie will start to feel happier soon and be seizure free.
Take care!
